I work at Emory University School of Medicine as a Technical Editor for the Department of Human Genetics. I edit manuscripts and grant applications, and produce a newsletter for the department.
I am almost finished with a book about idiopathic hypersomnia and related sleep disorders, which is contracted to Columbia University Press. Expected title: The Woman Who Couldn't Wake Up: Hypersomnia and the Science of Sleepiness.
In 2019, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation awarded me a grant to support writing, fact-checking and illustrations for the book. That was three years ago, before the COVID-19 pandemic shook things up. But now I am getting close to being able to say "thank you" to the Sloan Foundation and dozens of people who helped me.
